APEX Fit, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Bar.

Had one for snack #1, I didn’t eat my eggs this morning so I said what the heck, and also I need to finish off these expired APEX bars, asap!

Bars really shouldn’t substitute actual food… look at the amount of sugar! Like whoa, thats half of the allowed sugar intake for the day. Protein count is great though, made up for those eggs. Oh and heh, you can see the expiration date in the picture.

The flavor of this bar is quite good, I was surprised. After that horrid cookie and oatmeal bar (not posted), I was extremely skeptical. The texture of this dough bar is just the texture I love, chewy, much like my beloved Powerbars. The taste was actually better than the Powerbars I had, it doesn’t have an overpowering taste of protein powder and it was smoother than the Powerbar. Pretty good, I might buy these if and when they cost the same as a Powerbar (on sale $0.80~1.00 each). You can buy these at the local 24 Hour Fitness centers for $1.75 each, or wait till forever for a sale – box qty. 12 for $12.60, then it just becomes a matter of finishing them off before the exp. date.
APEX Fit, Cookies ‘n Cream Bar.

Got to taste this one as well, overall I think both bars have similar flavors. I like the dough bar just a tad bit more because it didn’t need to have chocolate filling (oreo cookie immitation) and chocolate whey (protein) has a stronger taste I believe. Still pretty good, I wouldn’t mind eating them… but the fat and sugar is still quite high for a snack.

After stats, I’d definitely choose the dough bar. It has less calories and sugar while pushing more protein.
